Nice piece of work here which highlights the mechanism behind so much apparently suicidal behaviour on our streets.

Seems we are more likely to cross the road if someone next to us does – between 1.5 & 2.5 times.

More so for the men amongst us.

But don't worry, fellas – it's only human…

    Makes perfect evolutionary sense. If organism A evolves a safety behavior based on observation, it would put selection pressure on organism B copying that behavior. Problem of course being that roads evolved quite recently…

    Exactly, not sure that roads were part of the fitness landscape for which the trait was selected
