Just about to sign off final – FINAL – paperback proofs and wondered if anyone had any funky examples of organisations/platforms for good that I could include in a list?

Thanks awfully

Hmmn. Depending on your definition of ‘for good’ in this context, perhaps what we did for Channel 4’s Big Art project fits:
http://bigartmob.com – we built this for Channel 4 to create a living document of all the public art in the United Kingdom, with all content geocoded creating a map of where all the art is.
The key being the platform (Moblog’s Participation Toolkit, which also powers moblog.net), usable for almost any mass collaboration project that uses mobile phones, the web and geocoding to create context.

how about http://www.mycake.org – a book-keeping and benchmarking service which relies on service users being prepared to allow their data to be added to the benchmark pool (only those who do get access to the benchmarking).
