Being useful

We've talked about the idea of brands being useful a lot – inspired by Johnny and Adrian and Rob  but help me out, guys: forcing me to spend 15 minutes with a non-functional transactional website and then (because I'm a SUCKER) getting me to press more than 50 keys on the automated phoneline to buy two cinema ticketsin what way is that being useful?

And for whom?

    I think Odeon are still in the era of webdesign where your website has to be loaded with news and gossip about stars before functionality so the ‘time spent on page’ figures at the end of the month look good. It annoys the hell out of me too so I just use the good old ‘check the newspaper and go to the cinema and decide+ buy there’
