Been reading Oliver James’ Affluenza recently and enjoying his musings on what we do in our untrammelled efforts to make ourselves unhappy that makes us so unhappy. In particular his factoid (from WHO) that we in Anglo-Saxon “I”-obsessed Britain are twice as likely to suffer significant mental health problems as our more Collectively orientated Continental cousins.
A delight therefore to meet him last night at a View from Here debate organised by Mark and co at Proximity for Royal Mail. Michael Wall of Fallon and Alex Batchelor from RM brilliant also. And lots of old chums turned out – Janet, Rowena, John, Simon and so on.
Quite overstimulated by the end. And so now a bit over-tired….but happy today
